Pain At The Pump: Petrol Price Up By Ksh. 5.72 As Gov’t Says It’s Using Petroleum Development Levy To Cushion Kenyans

The government has announced reviewed fuel prices, with petrol prices up by Ksh. 5.72, diesel up by Ksh. 4.48 and kerosene up by Ksh. 2.45 per litre. This means that Super Petrol will retail at Ksh. 217.36, diesel at Ksh. 205.47 and kerosene at Ksh. 205.06 in Nairobi. During a press briefing on Saturday led by Energy CS Davis Chirchir, he said he decided to take part in this month's briefing to let Kenyans know what the government is doing to try and deal with the skyrocketing prices of petroleum products, even as he said that citizens should expect more price increases.
