Starting with Chris Obure, the man is seriously rich and has several companies that he manage. He has managed to create employment among several Kenyans. In 2019 a court ruled to allow his accounts to be frozen. Flamboyant city gold fraudster, Jared Otieno, is on the run after his accomplice, Kevin Obia, was jailed for one year on Wednesday over fraud. In his ruling, Trial Magistrate Francis Andayi noted that Jared Otieno masterminded the gold scam where a foreigner was defrauded millions of shillings. Andayi said Jared is on the run. Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji seeks to withdraw Sh23 million charges against fake gold trade suspects Jared Otieno and four others. How Court releases Sh30 million Porsche to fake gold suspectJared Otieno

The High Court has released a Sh30 million Porsche Panamera to a suspected fake gold trader, Jared Otieno, after the State lost the bid to attach the luxury car. Justice John Onyiego asked the police to release the car to Mr Otieno, arguing there was no proof it was bought using proceeds of crime. The judge said the high-end vehicle has been lying at the CID headquarters, wasting away due to vagaries of weather. The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) is preparing an appeal, arguing that the car will deteriorate in value and defeat the push to have it forfeited to the State.
