KPSEA and KCPE Exams Kick Off

Candidates in class eight and those in grade six will today begin their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations. The exercise has already kicked off countrywide as Education ministry officials and exam supervisors availed themselves at exam collection centres this morning. President Ruto is expected to oversee the exercise in Kikuyu, Kiambu County on Monday morning. Other leaders will also visit various examination centres to oversee distribution of examination materials. KUPPET Supports Proposal To Allow Hospitalised Students Skip National Exams The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kilifi branch teachers' association has backed a proposal to allow sick students taking national exams to be nursed until they recover, rather than having the exams administered in hospital. The proposal was made by Julius Melly, chairman of the National Assembly's Education Committee, who stated that it is unfair to burden an ailing student who has been hospitalized with exams, arguing that the candidates can be given supplementary exams after recovering.
