Scandal,Cameroonian charged with obtaining Sh3.5M in fake gold scam
A Cameroonian accused of obtaining Sh3.5 million from a Kenyan in a fake gold business was on Wednesday charged at a Kibera court where he denied the charges.
Victor Shum Elad, alias Victor Malomba Junior, was charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Derrick Kuto.
He was accused of obtaining the said amount from Tom Mugo Okumu by falsely pretending that he was in a position to assist him to buy 15 kilogrammes of gold, knowing he was lying.
According to the charge sheet, the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between October 26, 2018, and November 11, 2018, at the Kileleshwa area in the Kilimani sub-county within Nairobi county.
Through his lawyer, the accused person urged the court to release him on a lenient bond term saying he is not a flight risk
